In the run-up to the European elections in June, the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (#CNUE) has published a series of priorities for future MEPs, members of the European Commission and the Council of the EU.These proposals are structured around 7 main themes: 1. Standing by #UkraineNotaries are the legal advisors to citizens and companies. They accompany them throughout the major stages of life: marriage contract, purchase of real estate, settlement of an inheritance, company statutes, etc. Every month, several million clients come through the doors of a notary’s office. And they are facing a steady increase in the number of cases with a cross-border element. After the successful elections, I wish for good fortune and blessings for our country. It's crucial for all citizens to recognize the fundamental importance of law, justice, fighting corruption, and transparency - these are the cornerstones of a thriving society, more essential than basic necessities on an international scale.Reflecting on the words of Prophet Muhammad, 'By Allah, if Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad, stole, I would cut off her hand,' and Caliph Umar's principle, 'Justice is the foundation of governance,' it's clear that these timeless values are pivotal for societal development. The insights of economists Prof. Dr. Daron Acemoglu and Prof. Dr. Mahfi Eğilmez, who assert that 'without law, the economy cannot improve,' further underscore the interdependence of legal integrity and economic prosperity.It's imperative that we all grasp the significance of international law, human rights, and fair trials. We must advocate for the enforcement of international legal standards, including the rulings of the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, the European Court of Human Rights, the United States Department of Justice, and The Hague, even for those we may consider adversaries.Observations suggest that many, including some of our most esteemed and affluent legal professionals, seek selective justice that spares them material or moral consequences. This selective approach to law undermines the very fabric of our legal system and societal values.The elections present an opportunity to lay the groundwork for a peaceful, just, and lawful society. However, it appears that the public's current focus is primarily on the economic situation and a reaction to visible corruption, bribery, theft, and undeserved enrichment.The insights of Prof. Dr. Acar Baltaş and Çetin Altan, which I've shared repeatedly, remain relevant in understanding these dynamics. SB4 Update! 🌟 Save this video 🌟 What happens now that Federal Judge Ezra issued an injunction against this new “Show Me Your Papers” law in Texas? Although we can expect for Texas to appeal this decision to the 5th Circuit Court, the state may not enforce this law for the time being. The 5th Circuit is likely to reverse the injunction, at which point the Department of Justice may appeal it up to the Supreme Court. #immigrationlawyer #immigration #texas #texaslawyer #uspolitics #texaspolitics

Civil society in #Slovakia is under threat. The new government’s recent measures and rhetorictriggered critical reactions from CSOs, media and international community, including the European Union.Smear campaigns, threats of losing funding and the potential introduction of a foreign agent law - all came within weeks of Slovakia swearing in a new government.
