We laughed from the day we met. He tolerated my bad jokes, his cross-habd grip gave me migraines. An incredibly deep and complicated. We had such plans for road trips this summer. Then lightning struck and he left us. I cried when he left. Golf will never be the same for me. Our deepest condolences to Phil, Jill, Amanda, Fred and Barney from Gordon and Irene Selfridge

Phil, Amanda, Jillian and Damon, I am so very sorry you lost this special man. My memories of Bern go back to YCS at St Alphonse’s hall. Thanks to Bernie in 1982 he took the time in Cheticamp to teach me to drive a standard, “watch my fee and listen to the motor” those words and his patience let me drive the car home. We had a great catch up at Walmart a few months back. May the many years of memories you have help you through the coming days,, weeks and years. Sending love and hugs

Dear Phil,
It has been a long time since we connected….literally years. I am so sorry to hear about the tremendous loss that you and your family are experiencing at this time. Working in New Waterford taught me a lot about community….especially supporting one another at a time like this. I know that spirit of caring still exists and on that note I wanted to reach out to you and give you my sympathy.
My prayers are with you and your family as you grieve the loss of someone so important in your life.

Phil, Jill, Amanda, and Damon, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I know Bernie was not a man of many words, well in my time spent with Jill growing up, but I will never forget our mutual taste in music. Alanis Morisette and Nirvana, all the classics! Loved hitching a ride wherever we were because I knew he’d always have the jams on that Jill never liked. He will be missed dearly and I so wish I was home to be there for you during this difficult time. Sending my love to all! ❤️❤️

Our sincere condolences to Phil & the girls…Bernie was a great guy to work with & even a better guy to work for. The fun we had over those 6 years are so memorable & what a joy to have him drive down our driveway last year as he was stuck in traffic…we spent the better part of an hour reminiscing about the “good old days” in the fuel business. Our thoughts are with you all during this difficult time💕💕

I have no words of comfort or wisdom to help you during this painful time. Bernie was a big part of my life as we camped our way from place to place. He reminded me so much of my dad , always there to help , but he always wanted to stay in the background. He would just sit back and watch with that silly grin on his face. I am so sorry for your lose. The world just became a little dimmer without Bern in it.
